How Municipal Court Warrants Work
Municipal courts in Mitchell County handle city traffic tickets, ordinance violations, and summonses. Miss a court date, and a warrant often follows. The exact label depends on the court's order. Mitchell County sources say bench warrant, failure-to-appear warrant, arrest warrant, or plain warrant; "capias pro fine" is not the local term. A city warrant is not the same as a county arrest-warrant record. Camilla Police files most cases in Camilla Municipal Court. Pelham names its court clerk through the Police Department. Sale City keeps a Municipal Court page, and Baconton offers only a City Hall contact. Whatever the city, the issuing court controls any recall, appearance, or payment direction.
Mitchell County Camilla Warrant Routes
Camilla Municipal Court handles traffic tickets, non-traffic summonses, and City Code violations, mostly filed by Camilla Police. You will find it at the Public Safety Complex, 80 W Broad Street, Camilla. The number is 229-336-2201. Office hours run 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with payments ending at 4:30 p.m. Payments can go online, by mail, or in person, using a money order, debit or credit card, or cashier's check. Cash is not accepted. Neither are personal or business checks. The EZCourtPay link is a citation-payment interface, not a Mitchell County warrant roster. Before paying, ask whether the payment resolves the missed appearance and whether the warrant has been recalled.
Municipal Courts Across Mitchell County
Mitchell County has four incorporated places. Each takes a different public route, so the place named on your citation controls where you call.
| City | Official route | Warrant-related use |
|---|---|---|
| Camilla | Municipal Court, 229-336-2201 | Traffic, summons, code, missed appearance |
| Pelham | Court Clerk, 229-294-6202 | City ticket and court-date questions |
| Baconton | City Hall, 229-787-5511 | Identify whether city or county holds the matter |
| Sale City | Municipal Court/City Hall, 229-336-7885 | City ordinance and state-law matters |
None publishes a public active-warrant list, universal bond table, or citywide recall form.
Mitchell County Baconton Warrant Routing
Baconton's official site lists City Hall at 333 East Walton Street, Baconton, with weekday hours and a public phone number. It posts no police page, municipal-court page, warrant lookup, ticket portal, bond instructions, or open-records form. That gap does not prove no city process exists. The City of Baconton page is the official starting point, and it shows the City Hall details for a Mitchell County warrant inquiry.

Call 229-787-5511 and ask whether a Mitchell County warrant matter belongs to Baconton, Mitchell State Court, Magistrate Court, or the sheriff.
Mitchell County Municipal Warrant Checks
Start with the court on the citation or notice. Have the full legal name, birth date, citation or case number, and last scheduled date ready. Ask what the clerk can confirm by phone before you give sensitive identifiers. A Mitchell County city may still require an in-person warrant check with government ID.
- Read the citation for the city and court name.
- Use the official court phone or city contact.
- Ask whether the case has an active bench or FTA warrant.
- Confirm appearance, bond, payment, and ID instructions.
- Obtain proof of recall or disposition after action.
A county arrest warrant changes the call. For that, contact the Mitchell Sheriff at 229-336-2030. A State Court case goes to the Clerk at 229-336-2021 or State Court at 229-336-2040. Georgia has no single public statewide warrant search.
Mitchell County Pelham Warrant Contact
Pelham Police sits at 337 Pride Street and lists 229-294-6003. The same official page names Court Clerk Helen Cody at 229-294-6202 and courtclerk@cityofpelhamga.com. Those are the routes for a Pelham ticket, a missed court date, or any Mitchell County warrant-process question. The Georgia Municipal Association Pelham profile adds official city context.

Pelham's police page offers no public warrant search, active list, bond schedule, or court-payment portal. Its name-based criminal-history form is not an NCIC or GCIC warrant database. Treat it as neither when checking Mitchell County warrants.
Municipal Warrants: What They Show
A city court record may list a citation or case number, the court, the offense, a required date, a failure-to-appear event, warrant action, current status, fine or bond directions, and any later recall. Details vary by city. Mitchell County publishes no municipal warrant-number format. A vendor's number is not universal, so match identifiers carefully.
| Case or citation number | Links the inquiry to the city court file. |
|---|---|
| City offense | May be traffic, ordinance, summons, or another matter in city jurisdiction. |
| Court date | Shows the required appearance or response. |
| Warrant status | Must be confirmed as active, served, recalled, or closed. |
| Payment or appearance | Lists the court’s current instructions, if disclosed. |
A payment result is not a warrant-status answer. In Mitchell County, ask for both whenever a court date was missed.
Mitchell County Camilla Warrant Records
Camilla is the county seat and the largest incorporated place in Mitchell County. Its city police and Municipal Court sit close to county court and sheriff functions, but the records stay separate. A city ticket belongs in city court unless the document says otherwise. The official Camilla municipal profile gives the city background on that page.

A county criminal warrant is a different matter. Use the Mitchell County sheriff or Magistrate Court rather than assuming the Camilla payment portal covers it.
Clearing a Municipal Court Warrant
Call the issuing city court and ask which route fits: payment, a new appearance, bond, voluntary surrender, or an attorney-filed motion to recall or quash. Recall means the court withdraws the warrant. Quash means it cancels the process outright. No Mitchell County city publishes one universal clearance fee or procedure.
- Confirm the court and active status.
- Ask whether counsel can arrange the appearance.
- Follow the court’s payment, bond, or hearing direction.
- Request a receipt, order, or docketed disposition.
- Verify that law-enforcement and DDS records updated.
Warning: Paying a citation may not by itself recall a warrant or clear a Georgia DDS failure-to-appear notice.
The Mitchell County traffic-warrant process covers the separate court and license checks.
Mitchell County Sale City Warrant Routing
Sale City keeps Police Department and Municipal Court pages, at 122 E Broad Street and 229-336-7885. The court describes its job as applying state laws and ordinances. It posts no warrant search, payment vendor, bond window, recall form, or court calendar. Ask whether your case stays with Sale City or moved to Mitchell State Court. The official Sale City municipal profile gives the contact details on its page.

One outdated Mitchell County clerk page routed Sale City Police traffic cases to the county clerk. That page's contact details are stale. When State Court is named, call the current clerk number.
Mitchell County City Warrants and DDS
Miss a traffic appearance in a Mitchell County city court and the judge may notify Georgia DDS. DDS allows a license suspension after the FTA process. Still, its license records are not a warrant lookup. Fix the city court case first, then ask the clerk whether the court filed the electronic release, and check your license status with DDS separately. A reinstatement charge does not clear the city case. In the same way, an online ticket payment does not prove a warrant was recalled. Keep the city court receipt and any written disposition. Ask when the update reaches the police, the sheriff, or the DDS system.
Note: Georgia traffic citations are not stored in one public statewide citation database, so the issuing court remains the key source.
Accessing Mitchell County Municipal Warrant Records
The Georgia Open Records Act opens many agency records in Mitchell County, though exemptions apply. Skip the broad request for every city warrant. A narrow request for one identified city court disposition works better. Active-investigation material, identifiers, sealed documents, and juvenile records may be withheld or redacted.
Key rule: O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-72 govern access, response timing, costs, and exemptions.
Camilla provides a written request form. Sale City accepts written requests through its city clerk by several delivery methods.
Send each request to the office that holds the record. A city clerk cannot confirm a Mitchell County warrant held by the sheriff. And a county case search may leave out a city matter entirely.
